Eventually, we were given permission to take him clothes, food and letters. Every Monday I would stand at the prison gates, holding a large bag of food, clothes, books and writing materials. Much of it was usually returned to me on the spot and of those items the prison guards did accept, I didn’t know what was in fact delivered to him.
